We currently offer Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field for youth ages 6-18 years old. Every athlete is given the opportunity to compete against elite level athletes across the country. Notable meets our athletes attend include AAU Junior Olympics, AAU National Indoor Championship, USATF National Championship, New Balance Indoor Nationals and MORE. We only accept a limit number of athletes to dedicate our time to ensure that we provide each athlete with the utmost attention in an effort to develop their talents and enhance their mechanics in track.

TO CELEBRATE THE START OF THE 2024 OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD SEASON, THE HG STRIDERS ELITE TEAM HOSTED OUR 'COMMITMENT DAY.' IT WAS AN EPIC CELEBRATION! OUR ATHLETES SIGNED $1,000,000 NIKE NIL DEALS AND COMMITTED TO THE HG STRIDERS ELITE TRACK CLUB. THE ATHLETES WERE GIFTED WITH CUSTOM MEDALS, CERTFICATES, SWEET TREATS AND PIZZA. WE HIRED KONA ICE TRUCK AND A CARICATURE FOR OUR ATHLETES ENJOYMENT. THERE WERE RAFFLE GIVEAWAYS FOR THE PARENTS AND ATHLETES. HG Striders athletes competed in the International Youth Championship. This is one of the most competitive meets in the DMV. Our athletes did an amazing job. Several of our athletes earned medals in their events. I am so proud of our athletes! Slow Feet Don't Eat!
HEART N GLORY STRIDERS TAKE NOLA
HG Striders Elite athletes traveled to New Orleans, Louisiana (home of Coach Brown) to participate in the KY Betty Smothers Relay in Baton Rouge, La. And, we had our 2nd Annual team picnic at Coach Brown's parents home. We had a time! There were so many activities planned for our athletes, team comradery and a whole lot of fun. Our team dominated the track meet. We are so proud of all of our athletes! Job well done!

MARYLAND BLAZE BRING THE HEAT INVITATIONAL
On May 18, 2024, our HG Striders Elite athletes participated in the Maryland Blaze Bring the Heat Invitational track meet. We earned the Team Overall MVP Award for Girls, several medals and PRs. Special Congrats to Makayla Hunt, Paul Curtis Jr. and Omega Franklin for earning the MVP award.

QUEEN HARRIS TRACK CLASSIC INVITATIONAL
On May 5, 2024, our HG Striders Elite athletes participated in the Queen Classic Track Invitational track meet. We earned over 30 medals and so many PRs. In spite of the rain, our athletes had HEART and earned the GLORY! I am so proud of all of our athletes. They also took pictures with Olympian Queen Harrison Claye, Will Claye and Lashawn Merritt. It was an amazing track meet! Congratulations HG Striders Elite atheletes!
2024 BRING THE HEAT INVITATIONAL - NORTH CAROLINA
On April 20th, our athletes participated in the Bring the Heat Invitational in North Carolina. This meet is named one of the toughest meets in the country. Our athletes were trained and ready to go! 5 of our athletes medaled in their events, our athletes earned Top 10 in 13 events and several of our athletes PRd. We are so proud of all of our athletes. ABOUT COACH BROWN
Who are you?
I am Coach Breland Brown, the head coach of Heart n Glory Striders. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana I grew up playing sports. I played baseball at the collegiate and professional level (Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Yankees and several minor league teams). Once my daughter was born, I wanted to shift careers to ensure I was present for every major event in her life. Thus, my wife, daughter and I relocated to Maryland approximately eight years ago to start our new journey.
What does Shaping Kids’ Lives Through Sports mean to you?
I have always had a passion for mentoring youth through sports. Shaping Kids’ Lives Through Sports means teaching kids self confidence, hard work and consistency, how to work cooperatively with others and showing good sportsmanship. As a coach, I am skilled and dedicated to being a positive mentor. In turn, the kids will benefit from learning from me and spending their time with another positive mentor besides their parents. Lastly, Shaping Kids’ Lives Through Sports means teaching kids how to be engaged in physical activity safely.
Why did you decide to coach track and field?
My wife and I usually go out and run fifteen 100m and six 200m sprints. Our daughter would accompany us. I told my wife, right before the pandemic in 2020, that our daughter looks really fast. So, I wanted to register her for a track team, however the pandemic threw things off. I thought she was extremely talented and she did not get tired from intense running. Moreover, she was beating my wife in races at the age of 8 years old, so I knew I needed to sign her up. She ran for a local developmental track club. However, mid-season I decided to train her. She earned her ticket to the 2021 AAU Junior Olympics in the 100m, 200m and 400m under my training.
I've always had a passion to mentor our youth. I think it's just something that is inside of me. I've mentored several kids, some of which are now playing on a professional level. To add, in my professional career as a baseball player I have had the opportunity to work with the best athletic trainers, coaches and played with some of the best well-known professional athletes. I understand sports and I have the capabilities to make a difference in the lives of our youth. Also, I am known for my quick speed, I understand speed training and the mechanics of running. With my knowledge and expertise, I will develop young athletes by teaching them the proper running mechanics, event specific technical skills and strength and conditioning.
I am who I say I am! I am committed to providing the skills, techniques and mentorship to our Heart n Glory Striders athletes. It's going to be a life changing experience and an exciting journey! Thank you for entrusting me with your child!
